Make sure software updates aren't blocked from going online.Review antivirus, firewall, or parental control settingsĬheck the settings for your antivirus, firewall, or parental control software. The solution, disable windows update, uninstall chrome, firefox, flash, AVG (avg antivirus was downloading the latest version of chrome and flash for me lol), uninstall all the automated crap. If your computer doesn't let you complete these steps, contact the person who has administrator rights to your computer to complete the Chrome update. Thru some tricks of killing the ethernet at trigger finger speed (otherwise chrome updates itself in 5 seconds) I got this work. On Mac, download Google Software Update again and try reinstalling.On Windows, try the standalone installer.
